Who looks after your information
COOLDOWN is provided by the publisher identified in its App Store listing. For privacy requests, contact max.boko@outlook.com. This policy explains how information is handled when you use COOLDOWN.
Your collection stays yours
COOLDOWN stores the items you save, links, names, photos, captured prices and currencies, notes, ratings, cooling times, decisions and Worth Keeping selections on your device. It also stores preferences and unfinished drafts so you can return to them. We do not operate an advertising, analytics or AI service that receives your collection. We do not sell your personal information or track you across apps.
Information from product links
When you paste or share a link, your device requests the shop page and its product image. The shop and image host receive the request URL, your IP address and ordinary network information under their own policies. We do not send your notes, ratings, collection or shopping cookies. When you share from Safari, COOLDOWN can read the selected page’s product metadata, including structured product details, to help fill in the item. Product details may be incomplete or out of date; you can correct them.
Optional iCloud and household sharing
If you turn on personal sync, your collection and images are stored in your private iCloud storage through Apple. Household sharing is separate: you preview the selected information before sending an invitation. Your private notes, ratings, decisions and totals are excluded from that shared snapshot. Participants can see the shared content and response history. You can leave a household or manage access, but cannot erase copies another participant has already made. Apple processes iCloud information under its privacy policy.
Subscriptions and support
Apple processes subscription payments. COOLDOWN checks verified purchase information to determine Plus access; it does not receive your payment card details. The app keeps item identifiers to track the five-item Free allowance. If you email support, we receive your email address, your message and attachments you choose to send. Please include only information needed to resolve your request.
Permissions and exports
Notifications are optional and can be disabled in COOLDOWN or iOS Settings. If you enable the reminder after time away, your device stores the last time you used the app to schedule one local notification after three days, adjusted for quiet hours. This activity timestamp is not sent to an analytics service. Photo access is used for photos you select. Data exports can include private notes and amounts; receipt exports offer redaction previews. Files you share are handled by the recipients and services you select.
Why information is processed
Where European data protection law applies, processing needed to provide the requested app features or subscription is based on performing our contract with you. Optional sharing and permissions depend on your choice and, where required, consent. Support and proportionate security measures rely on our legitimate interest in maintaining the service. We also comply with applicable legal obligations.
Retention and deletion
Your collection remains until you delete items or remove local app data. Deleted items are removed from the active collection; iCloud propagation, device backups and recovery copies may retain information for a period. Removing the app does not itself delete iCloud records or cancel an Apple subscription. A minimal list of capture identifiers may remain for the Free allowance. Support correspondence is retained as needed to resolve requests and meet applicable legal obligations. Contact us for help with deletion or retained recovery copies.
Your choices and rights
You can correct items, export your records, turn off notifications, disable personal sync and manage household access in the app. Depending on applicable law, you may request access, correction, erasure, restriction, portability or object to processing, and withdraw consent without affecting earlier lawful processing. Contact max.boko@outlook.com. You may complain to your local data protection authority, including the CNPD in Luxembourg (cnpd.public.lu). If a request requires identity verification, we request only what is necessary.
Service providers, security and changes
Apple provides App Store and iCloud services; Microsoft processes email sent to the support address. These providers may process information in countries other than yours under their own terms and applicable safeguards. COOLDOWN uses iOS data protection and Apple’s signed purchase verification. No system guarantees absolute security. This policy may change as the service changes; the updated date appears above, and material changes will be communicated in the app.
